Quazi Design was founded in Eswatini around 2009 to 2010 through a collaboration between a creative designer and a local magazine distributor. Together, they recognised the potential in unsold and returned magazines that would otherwise have been discarded. What began as an effort to reduce waste quickly evolved into an innovative social enterprise, transforming surplus printed material into beautifully handcrafted design products while creating meaningful employment for local women artisans.

Today, Quazi Design produces distinctive jewellery, statement necklaces, earrings, homeware, decorative bowls, lighting elements and sculptural pieces, all meticulously handcrafted from rolled and treated magazine paper. Each strip is carefully cut, rolled, shaped, sealed and assembled by skilled artisans, turning printed pages into durable, lightweight works of art. ACD Africa continues to supply surplus magazines that form the foundation of these creations, supporting a circular design process that blends sustainability, craftsmanship and social impact.
